Cookery
Cookery is the preferred option for jobs in Australia. However, Chef is the only one profession that opens doors to potential permanent immigration to Australia.
Other positions might be possible, however with less access to long term residency.
Nursing
Asia Pacific is recognised as one of the world’s top destinations for highly efficient healthcare. With Australia’s growing population and the shortage of staff since the Covid-19 epidemic, nursing is one of Australia’s fastest growing sectors and is therefore on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List.
In addition, the prospects of working as a nurse are quite good as the Australian government plans to increase career opportunities by 13.9% by 2026 to 331,200 nurses nationwide.
There are two types of Nurse in Australia: Registered or Enrolled Nurse. An Enrolled Nurse can only work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and cannot act alone. On the other hand, a Registered Nurse has many more responsibilities. The administration of medication, the assessment of patients and the provision of sometimes complex nursing or specialist care all fall within the remit of a Registered Nurse. A Registered Nurse can also develop into a team leader or unit manager.
For this, you have to complete a 3-year Bachelor of Nursing through a university to meet the Registered Nurse standards for practice.
